After another fantastic nights sleep we woke to another great breakfast at the B&B. This was our last full day in Atlanta. We were going to go into downtown again but opted for Zoo Atlanta instead. It was fun and they had so many animals from Gorillas to a bald Eagle.
We got to feed a giraffe which was amazing. We saw a single Meerkat who was lounging back on the ground fighting to stay awake. He’s supposed to be on watch. It was so cute. We saw snakes, lions, elephants, turtles, Panda’s (a full panda family with twin babies) Orangutan’s A Toucan, and all sorts of birds and animals I’ve never seen before. It was a great zoo and very much worth the price of entry.
For dinner we went to Flip burger,in Buckhead. We had to fight Atlanta traffic to get there but it was well worth it. Check out the MENU (PDF)
I had the Caprese Burger, with Flip Fries with Bacon and Garlic and a Liquid Nitrogen Vanilla Bean Shake plus a Boylan Black Cherry Cola. Eric had the Pork Belly Burger and flip Fries with Truffle Parm and a Nutella and burnt Marshamallow Liquid Nitrogen shake. It was all so good.
We had an early night and watched TV at our carriage house. After hubby fell asleep I watched Loving on HBO and that was a great story.
Our next day we had another stellar breakfast and then we were on our way via the mountain route toward Upstate New York and the Finger Lakes region. We stopped at the Holiday Inn Express at Woodstock Virginia to stay for the night. It was very nice and we got great sleep there. We left around 9 for and continued on the mountain route.
We got to our Bed and Breakfast, Trimmer House around 6:30 pm. We were greeted by our Inn Keepers Yan and Gary and we settled in our room. We had Grace’s room. We went to dinner at a local place called Top of the Lake which was really nothing special and the decor is the same as it was in 1989 when it opened.
