- The downtime. Our busiest hours for patient care are 0700, 0900, 1300, 1500 and 1700. (unless you are working ICU’s or ER.) Besides that we have some downtime, unless we get calls. (this is not to say that we don’t have to do anything else but we generally get to eat breakfast and a little break in the morning and afternoon.
- The family. These people have become like family to me over the last 4.5 years.
- The department. We have an actual department which is not bad at all. We have a lounge, a nice store room, a room for our machines. We used to share with just dialysis, now a days there are patients on the other side of our department.
- Not being responsible to total care of the patient. I know that I am moving into that now as an RN but sometimes it’s nice to just be able to walk away when a patient messes themselves. I come in, I do what I have to do and I leave.
- The Transient nature of my job and the independent nature of my job. I am all over the hospital so I get to interact with people on every floor. Now I won’t see them nearly as often. I will miss that. I will also miss, going out, doing my own thing with own patients.
