Today I had two hurdles to overcome. First was the retake on the dosage exam. I passed this time. I made a silly mistake otherwise I would have gotten 100%. I forgot to round up my drops per minute (gtts/min) from 2.5 to 3 drops per minute. I knew it as soon as I left the testing center. I hate that kind of regret!!
I also had to pass my General Health Assessment check off. I passed that too and surprised myself with how much I did know. I was so worried about what I didn’t know! I don’t care how confident I am I don’t walk into an exam thinking I’m going to ace it. I’ve never been that way and I probably never will be.
After we did some check offs for Maternal Child health. Swaddling a baby, measuring head circumference, weighing a baby, etc. We also listened to the teacher talk about postpartum assessment. I have all kinds of things to look forward too with that.
The “semester” is almost over and Maternal Child Health will soon begin. I bought my text book for Maternal Child Health today. $150. Nice chunk of change, eh? It came with a work book too. and it’s about 50% thicker than my fundamentals of nursing book. Left on the horizon:
