I have tried and loved or hated many beauty products in the months of January and February. As I type this entry I am wearing a tea tree clearing clay mask from the Body shop and my Elf lip defoliator. Those will be my first review items.
This mask is instantly cooling when you put it on your face. It feels really good but it does smell like tea tree oil. Tea Tree has a particular smell and my husband always knows when I’ve used something from the tea tree range. It is now pretty much dry and it isn’t as hard as other clay masks I have used which is nice.
I am wearing the Elf Lip Exfoliator #82510 and apparently I am using it wrong. I have rubbed it all over my lips and let it sit for a few minutes and apparently I am supposed to wet my lips and rub it on and then take it off using a cotton ball or pad. Needless to say it’ tastes slightly sweet (as I found out by accident) and it has a rough sugar and has vitamin E, jojoba oil, Shea butter, avocado, grape and jojoba oil in it. It’s a little rough on the lips but it definatley exfoliates. And it’s only $2.99! I have used other lip exfoliators, such as Lip Scuff from The Body Shop which at $12.50 which is decent but costs a lot more.
I have recently purchased Your Skin but Better CC illuminator cream with SPF 50. It’s a full coverage CC cream which covers nicely. It is also an anti-aging serum. It goes on well with a beauty blender and offers an illumination to your skin that is nice. I originally received this as a sample from Ulta but then loved it and bought it. I received a sample of It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye and like that too and will likely purchase that as well. It’s definatly a favorite of mine but is also a favorite of YouTube star and Blogger Lilly Pebbles. Check her out I think you will like her.
I love the Drops of Youth Range from The Body Shop. I don’t think it is really targeted to my age group but I like to use it when it’s hot out as it frequently is in Florida. Drops of Youth™ Skin Care range is infused with 3 plant stem cells Edelweiss, Sea Holly, and Criste Marine along with other ingredients for fresh, youthful-looking skin.
From the top left:-
- Drops of Youth Concentrate– this is a serum and it feels very good to put on and sinks into your skin in just a few minutes. It makes my face feel hydrated and refreshed. I use it on it’s own or follow it with,
- Drops of Youth Cream– This makes my face feel so hydrated and soft. I sometimes will use it during the day if I wash my face for some reason to help make a wonderfully non- greasy moisturized surface before makeup application.
- Drops of Youth Liquid Peel– this is supposed to peel dead skin off your face but I’m not sure if it working. Yes, I rub on until it pills and I guess this is your dead skin coming off. It mainly works on the sides of my face and my cheeks. I use this 2-3 times a week and it is refreshing to say the least. They jury is really still out on this one.
- Drops of Youth Eye Concentrate cream– this has a neat dispenser- a rollar ball so you can roll it on your under eye at the same time as stimulating your skin and movement in your lymphatics under your eyes. I mostly use this when I wake u to “wake Up” my eyes while I use the face massaging tool (also from the Body Shop) to wake up the rest of my face. I don’t know about it smoothing fine lines under my eyes at all.
- Drops of Youth Wonderblur Primer– It offers hydration and line smoothing but tends to come out of the tube dry and cakey so you have to be careful when taking it out of the tube. I have used better primers.
I would like to try the Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask. Some of it’s reviews say it works good and feels great and leaves face hydrated over night but others say it doesn’t do anything. I got a sample and I kind of like it.
I have also tried the Oils of Life Range. This is also nice, but I have only tried this one.
I like to use this one when it is colder out as it has been the last few days here in Florida. It feels good on the skin, very hydrating and a fair smell. I want to try the Oils of Life facial oil since I’m hearing all about how oils are the best for hydration. and it has gotten very good reviews on the Body Shop Website.
I love Almay mascara and I have used many of them. This one is an unfavorite I use Black Brown and this formula provides no added benefit to my lashes and FLAKES. Every time I have worn this there are always little flakes of Black Brown Mascara on my under-eye and cheeks. Embarrassing to say the least.
Benefits They’re Real mascara only comes in Jet Black but it works really really well. I like it better than Two Faced Better Than Sex mascara. It lifts, it separates, it curls (somewhat) and legnthens your lashes. This is my GO TO Mascara. Benefit is one of my favorite product lines. I also love their Goof Proof Brow pencil and their Gimmie Brow products. I love Benefit Brow Bar as well. I won’t let my salon touch my brows anymore. It’s worth the $21 I pay to get the Benefit girls to wax and shape my brows.
That’s all for this month!
Please subscribe to my blog, I would love that!
