I recently inherited my grandmothers silverware. She has nearly a full set of WM Rogers and Son’s Silverware called Victorian Rose and a bunch of loose pieces of a couple of different patterns which were really tarnished .
I remember helping her polish the silverware periodically in her home. It was one of my favorite things to do with her. So when she died, it was one of the things she kept telling me to take for years. (She didn’t use it anymore) I claimed it as my own.
So my new hobby is completing and expanding my grandmothers set from the 1940’s and 1950’s. I have already purchased a fork and a teaspoon, a butter knife and a sugar spoon (she only had one sugar spoon left in her set for some reason) and a Victorian Rose Serving set. I am excited to get these things to add to my collection.
When my husband and I got married we didn’t need to register for china because we had that were meant for us from his side of the family when we got married. We inherited a lovely set of China that contained two different but similar patterns. It contained the Mikasa Ares pattern (top) and the Gemini Wheat by Fine China of Japan (bottom)
I am always looking at antique stores to see if there are any pieces we can get for our set. We discovered after a plate broke in transit from when it came to us where we could replace it. Which I have to say is pretty awesome! I thought I would share my discovers with you. Click the links below to learn more.

This site is a very good place to find patterns of all kinds of China, Crystal Glassware and Silverware. Founded by Bob Page in 1981, Replacements, Ltd. has dedicated the past 36 years to helping people reconnect with their favorite memories. Explore their timeline to discover how Replacements went from Bob’s part-time hobby to the world’s largest supplier of vintage and current dinnerware, crystal, silver & collectibles. I have used this site a few times to get replacements or add pieces to our collection.

Etsy
I am finding that Etsy is a great place for getting replacements or adding to collections of at least silver although you can find some china on Etsy. I have shopped the following:
Silverplategalore
I purchased a Victorian Rose serving set from this seller. Shortly after I received an email stating that the order had been cancelled because the seller could not complete the transaction. My money was refunded. I am sad about this because I was really looking forward to this serving set.
GrinGalsAntiques
I have purchased multiple pieces from these ladies. They always come nicely wrapped in bubble wrap to prevent damage. They are very reputable.
Other places to look are of course Ebay. (got some knives wildwoodhome)
