Ah,once again they have changed things on us. Due to the fact that there are only thirteen of us left in class, and the budget, all of us have been changed to a Monday clinical and they have changed the clinical site to a hospital that is a little over an hour away. They spring this on us 1 day before school starts.

Why is this a problem?

I have already told me employer when I am available through March 5th.

I work every other weekend. Now I will have to tell them I can’t work in Sundays anymore due to pre clinical work. I wouldn’t get off until 7pm on those Sunday’s, then the hours drive and the 1.5 to 2 hrs it will take me to look up information for three patients on a NEW charting system. And then an hours drive back, THEN, probably about 2 hours work on the patho and drugs etc. So that might put me in bed around midnight or 1 am only to have to get up at 4 am for clinical the next day. Not very safe.

Granted this is more of a problem for some of my other classmates due to child care and work. I am very scared my employer may say no can do because they have been extremely flexible but not working on Sunday might be a problem. We shall see, I guess.

I did NOT want to go to this other hospital system. The parking is a mess down there and it will likely take 20 minutes to walk from the garage to my clinical floor. Which means I’ll probably have to arrive a half hour earlier.

I know I’m complaining. I’ve just got other things on my mind that are only adding to this pile of stress that keeps getting bigger.
