Today was my check off for changing a Cental line dressing with Cardiac assessment and Male and Female Foley catheter insertion with Abdominal assessment. I did fine on the two I did. It was a coin flip to which I had to do. I ended up with Female Foley Catheter instead of central line dressing. I also did the male catheter with another faculty member. Now I have
- NG Insertion, irrigation and removal
- Enterostomy/ Enema
- Enteral Tube feeding/Medication via feeding tube
left with the learning assistants to be done. And I have left to do with Faculty:
- IV Spike, Prime, Time & Assessment (Initiating Intravenous Therapy) and Secondary Fluids (Medications by Intermittent Infusion Sets) (this coming week)
- Medication Administration – PO, Subcutaneous & IM Sites and Injections
- Client Assessment
Next week our first big exam, Our first big case study, our IPR, and our dosage exam is all due. Gonna be a very long week! So much to do this weekend and today!
Good Luck! 🙂
